Specific Information
- All in-bound non-diplomatic shipments are subject to the payment of Customs fees of 60 euro and Customs value added tax (VAT) of 18% of the costs, insurance and freight value.
- The detailed inventory should include a detailed description for each item, the total number of pieces, the Customs value for each item, the total value, which should align with the value declared on the Pro-forma Invoice.
- The consignee’s organization identified on the AWB must be registered in Georgia.
- An incomplete or missing detailed inventory list will result in an intensive inspection and evaluation of every item in a shipment; this process will result in delays in Customs clearance, resulting in fees and VAT.

Specific Information
- Motor vehicles may be imported on a temporary basis for a period of 1 year; an extension may be granted for an additional year.
- If shipper is exempt from import duties, a Bank Guarantee for the amount of the value added tax (VAT) of approximately 18% must be paid for the period of the temporary import.
- The motor vehicle must be exported upon expiration of the Temporary Import.
- The permanent import of motor vehicles is subject to taxes and duties per Customs tariff.
Pets

- Letter of Employment / Letter from organization
Specific Information
- Animals must be accompanied by the Veterinary Health Certificate for entry.
Restricted/Dutiable Items
- The following items may qualify for free import within the limits indicated:
- Cigarettes (200)
- Wine (3 L) and beer (10 L)
- Medications (doctor’s statement required)
- Art or cultural items (photographs of each item and a letter of permission from the Ministry of Culture required for import)
- Hunting rifles (a valid Georgian hunting license must be obtained prior to import)
Prohibited Items
- Weapons of all kinds
- Pornography
- Narcotics
- Toxic and radioactive materials
Consignment Instructions
Recommended: Contact the destination agent to ensure all requirements have been met prior to import, especially for differences regarding air / sea shipments.
